Dr. Chris Sieverdes has served Blue Key for a total of 30 years of which the first twenty were as Advisor to Blue Key at Clemson University. In 2000 he also led a group of advisors and students to administer Blue Key at the national level. He served as Blue Key Executive Director from 2002 through 2016.  He was Professor and Community Development Specialist at Clemson University until his retirement in 2006.  At Clemson he won two of the University’s most prestigious awards: The “1985 Alumni Master Teacher Award (top classroom teacher)” and the 1996 Alumni Distinguished Public Service Award for his leadership of the Palmetto Leadership Program with the Extension Service.  He has three children – Clemson graduates.

Mr. Bob Izlar

University of Georgia
Honored with Board of Directors Emeritus on July 9th, 2021
Blue Key Honor Society Board of Directors
2002-2021

Bob is one of thirteen children born to the Izlar family in northern Georgia. Bob spent his early years foraging in the woods of his wilderness GA playground. He walked downhill (both ways) in the red Georgia clay on his way to school and never complained. After a career in the military (most of which is classified) Bob used his forestry degree to instruct others and traveled the world in the name of UGA and forest management. A good man who never met a tree or a quality breakfast he didn’t like. Known to associate with ruffians and take GPS advice from lost southerners. His motto when faced with a 2.5lb bone in prime rib – “Victory or Death!”
